I was just watching an old Steve McQueen movie, "The Thomas Crown Affair" on TCM. At one point Fay Dunaway is walking along the Charles in Boston while some eights are rowing by. Along side one is a coaching launch and I thought "man, what a cool looking boat!" Then I remembered, wasn't Westies' Coyote II built to be used as a coaching launch in Boston? My God -- there it was!

Get in on Netflicks and check it out for yourself --

I've never seen the movie, but here's an electric boat based on the same basic design.

See McDenny (http://wolfeboats.com/index.php)'s bit of drop-dead elegance

Which was based on Coyote II.

Wasn't the Seamaster coaching launch based on Coyote II?

The Seamaster is an interesting boat, but I don't believe it's related to the Coyote in any way. The Harmony electric launch is very much like it, though stretched in length a bit I think. Lovely boat for sure!

Thanks.

The Harmony 25 hull is exactly to Mr. Farmer's offsets for the Coyote II.

The design of the interior, decks, hatches, etc is mine after doodling on the loft board for countless (very plesant) hours.

I stand corrected Denny!

Still a thing of great beauty, in the movie it pulled my eyes off of a young Fay Dunaway -- need I say more?

This is what I like. This is why I read. Guys who know more about boats, and certain boats, than I do.
