My first father in law was fond of, "it's a small mind that can't think of more than one way to spell a word".

Donn is proof.

I'd like to figure out a way for seafox and Donn to be intermediaries in each other's posting process.

I had a mate at school who made up his own words as he went along. "Miss, is there such a word as .........................?"
He went on to a career as principal violinist in several of the best european orchestras'

My first wife made up a lot of her (and our family's) own words; so many in fact that my son once thought about writing a book about them. She could spell Donn under the table without breaking a sweat, in several languages. Nonetheless, she was more proud of her writing than her spelling. Good writing requires original thought.

My three kids and I still use many of those words, like "flutterby" instead of "butterfly", or "upstich" for "sit up straight", which she got from her Belgian Grandmother who spoke no English.
