Isn't running a front-loader 4+ into the Eliot Bridge worse?
Or, are coxes expendable?

Princeton's bow broke off, and the crew stopped rowing.
Seems to be a study in understatement :D

Could it possibly be worse than this?

Ouch!
Had a cox'n run us into another boat once. He got very wet come the end of the race.
Worst for me was in a Head of the Charles where the rower directly forward of me (#6, I was rowing 7) got a very large deposit from a seagull as we went under a bridge. Some on his head, most in his lap. It was all I could do to keep from puking - & we had over a mile left to go. Both of us (& the stroke & cox'n) did lose it after we crossed the finish line.
Ahh.... the wonderful memories :D

Shouldn't there be a law requiring those fine young boaters to wear PFDs? <sarcasm>
Only in Massachusetts. I've heard that the sweeps are considered adequate Type IV PFD's.
