Anyone have any experience with either of these boats? They were in an article on Phil Bolger in WB #164

There is also an 18' version splitting the difference between the 16' and 21'ers. The 18' has been built as glued lapstrake, which I think is a pretty good idea for this size boat, instead of carvel planking over steamed frames. There was an article in MAIB a while talking about these boats.

I was thinking of strip planking,I don't know what the plans call for. What's MAIB?

MAIB is "Messing About in Boats", a bi-monthly magazine published by Bob Hicks. Bolger has a design commentary in every issue. It's well worth getting if just for that and the frequent Robb White contributions. You can subscribe online at duckworksmagazine.com.
Anyway, I've got sitting here in front of me Volume 20, number 8 (September 1, 2002) MAIB with Bolger's discussion about the 21'er. I was trying to get it OCR'ed for you but that may be a lost cause. I'm going to try and put it in a PDF instead so can at least read PCB's current thinking.
The boat in the article is built in one-off fiberglass, but I don't see why you couldn't in sheathed strip for a lot less trouble and expense. I'll let you know when I get you a PDF posted.

I got the OCR to work, so look for the text of the article in a private message. The PDF is out there too, but I'm going to limit it to only those who ask for the link.
You've got mail.

You can see the PDF here. (http://www.heritagepres.com/temp/sometime_or_never.pdf)
Warning, it's about a 1.5 meg DL.
I'll leave it up for a couple of days.

There's a photo of a homebuilt one in the Launchings section of WB # 171. You could contact the owner through his address shown there.
