I found this rowing skiff in a souvenir store in Apalachicola Florida. They told me the skiff was bought at an auction on near by St. George island.
Can anyone ID this skiff ? I would like to purchase a set of plans if possible.
This skiff is 15’- 6” long and 4’ wide. All wood except the white oak stem is white pine from the big box store.
Any help will be appreciated.
Justin

Pretty generic flatty. You don't need plans.

If you want plans for something very similar - try the Atkin "George." 16 foot LOA X 4 foot beam. George isn't cross-planked on the bottom, but she certainly could be if you insist. She could also have a plywood bottom (which might suit you better if you plan on storing her out of the water).

Or... if you want something similar that you can also put a sail on - the Jordan "Footloose." Slightly beamier:

There's a a plan on Ebay right now that's pretty darned close to the skiff in your picture

The plans are from some 1950's magazine and they come up on ebay pretty often. I have a set (the original magazine pages) and they're very complete and the instructions are OK
Edit - I just found the very same plans for free at http://svensons.com/boat/?p=MechanixIllustrated/Chessy

This skiff looks a lot like the SUSAN designed by Robert Steward, except that she's only 11'-3" long.
I am the care taker of her plans, as I was asked by Bob's widow to keep and pass them along to anyone interested. Let me know if you would like a pdf copy.

Ed,
I would like to get a copy of the plans if you would. I am thinking about hosting a wooden boat building workshop at the community college where I work and that may be just the right kind of build.
Thanks
Jerry

Ed - I too would like a copy. I actually have a reprint of the plans from some old magazine but the reproduction quality is not great and I can't read some of the dimensions and info. A clear copy would be most welcome.

Ed, I would also like a copy of the Susuan plans please. Our local Recreation Authority has some involvement in sailing and boating in general, being right along the Susquehanna River. Are they suitable for beginners?
Thanks,
Dan
