This one just showed up on the Atlanta Craigslist. I am sorely tempted to go take a look. Never had any experience with Lymans, but from the photos I don't see anything that looks too bad. Anybody see any smoking gun that I am missing? The damage to the windshield was caused by squirrels chewing on the wood.

On first glance, it looks OK. 16 footer?

But the area in Lyman boats that typically have problems is covered up by that blue carpet. I'd also be concerned about the knee/stem joint area. It looks like the paint has peeled there. It could be an indicator of rot, or it could just be peeling paint.

It may be worth a closer look. Bring a camera, take a ton of pictures.

Looks quite good actually... A nice boat too.

That's a16 1/2' footer, great little boat. It has the optional "ventilating windshield", which is pretty rare.

As suggested before, you'll need to get the floorboards up and take a good look around. Fortunately, with these smaller Lymans, everything is pretty much out in plain sight If the deck is de-laminating, which is pretty typical, that's an easy job.Hopefully no cracked ribs and a good sound transom. Pay attention to the hull shape; trailers can be rough on these little clinker boats.

I have that same boat, other than the opening windows. Check the deck where it meets the windshield. Get inside pull up those floorboards and check each rib. It looks like a nice boat. There should be a bench seat for the rear seat that would sit on the stringer. Good Luck.
