Does anyone know how I can get more information on the boat "Spirit 37" on page 70 in WB179? I think it's love at first site.

I hear you dude, those boats are awesome. WoodenBoat has done a few articles on them in the past. I believe the builder's first boat was going to be named Hashish but they decided it might be hard to get financing for such a project and changed it to to Spirit.
They have a website:
Spirit Yachts (http://www.spirityachts.com/)

Oh yeah! Man these things are gorgeous!!!
The one pictured in the WB, what length is that? It looks to be a fairly small boat, but looks can be decieving with such sleek lines.

I just converted the base price, with none of the options:
136,884 British Pound = 252,373 US Dollar
A little steep for me, oh, well.

There are any number of 6 metre, 22 and 30 sq.metre boats out there that would give you the same thrill. As a matter of fact, one of the nicest 6's in North America is for sail for around $15,000.00 in Seattle.
I agree that those Spirit designs, as well as the 'W' class boats from Maine, are awesome, but the price? Whew. I'm a whole lot easier to please.

First, I'm a newcomer and new to wooden boats. I also fell in love with this boat upon seeing it (page 70, August 2004 issue). However, am I the only person that can look carefully at the boat and seriously question the fact that it is supposedly 37' in LOA? That boat looks more about the size of a J24. ???
