View Full Version : What dreams may come...

I had one a couple of nights ago. I had a wounded eagle in my hands. It was recently healed from a broken wing. I was holding it by the base of its wings and I was standing in a high eyrie, many thousands of feet above the ground, in the mountains. There was some debate whether it was ready to fly. I took the bird and cast it over the edge.

It, at first, crumpled on itself and fell like a rock, wings folded. And then, near the ground, it found its bearings and spread its wings.

I woke with a start. Oh, it's going to be OK.

Rare a dream so explicit.

To be, or not to be--that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them.
To die, to sleep-- No more--and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to.
'Tis a consummation Devoutly to be wished.
To die, to sleep-- To sleep--perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub,
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil
Must give us pause.
There's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life... Bill Shakespeare
