Anybody here completed a Kingston 15? I have a couple of questions.

First, I see that the specs reference 262 pounds of ballast - 147 pounds of cement and 115 pounds of steel - but where does go. They're not specific on the cad sketches or in the construction photos, and I'm wondering how much of the under-berth and under-seat storage is taken up by ballast.

Second, what material is used for the mast and boom?

Go over to the TSBB forum (http://bbs.trailersailor.com/forums/tsbbcomp/trailersailor/index.cgi)
and search Jim Stumpf No Frills. He has built one and done a beautiful job. I'm sure he'd be glad to help.

Just noticed a post in the pocket cruiser thread down below this one re the No Frills (same as Kingston). Great pic too.

Hmmm.....I just read over there that the "real" boat is the "No Frills 15", and that the "Kingston 15" is a ripoff by a guy who bought plans of the original and is copying and selling them (At double the price, to boot!).

Too bad that there's a lack of yardarms lately to swing people from, huh?
