I recall that there are some beekeepers among us.... this article might have some interest. It looks like the collapse of bee colonies continues, unabated... and the reasons still aren't known:

Branching out Norm? New territories and the great beyond? I just bought a quart of local desert honey yesterday for $12.98 in a health food store. It's only up $2/3 from the average a couple years ago. Based on that price, the stories I have read are probably exaggerated a little.

Had to have a hive removed from our attic a few years ago and noticed a drop in the citrus production. There seems to be a healthy hive nearby because our Rosemary is covered with busy bees from dawn to dusk.

In Germany, they have linked bees dying last year to certain seed protections used in agriculture. We may see this year, if this was right as some of these materials have been prohibited now ...
Very few birds in our garden this winter / spring. Not good.

I posted this because I knew there were bilge participants who were beekeepers.
Remember this, the next time I'm accused of starting nothing but political threads.

Well actually it is, they just don't know how he did it ;)
