Sooooooo formal... I think you guys might know who I am by now. :)
So, Paul, have you grown potatoes? Or collards?

I've grown lots of collards and other similar greens too, like mutard and turnip. Collards are very easy.

I've only ever grown a couple of crops of potatoes; as Donn says in the other thread they are so cheap anyway and the quality difference of growing your own is negligible.

From time to time I do plant sweet potatoes though.

I do agree with Donn, though I think it's hard to get gorgeous new potatoes when you want them. Now, sweet potatoes, any difference in quality there?

Kale? tried that?

I must agree with the Leftist. Ornamental Kale is a gorgeous garden plant, but there is no place in my kitchen for edible (hardly) Kale.

Donn! You surprise me!! You must not have had it prepared with fish and a beautiful mustard sauce. Jim's favorite...

Spinach and Mustard Greens with fish is fine, but hold the sauce.

Kale has to be so seriously cooked there is no nutrition left, and the flavor is unremarkable.

Perhaps, but there is bite and texture, not a puddle of green.
