Two magazines, Country Living (95.99% white readership) and Ebony / Jet (99.99% black readership) did surveys on...

"WHAT DO PEOPLE FEAR MOST?"

The results were interesting,to say the least... Country Living magazine's top three answers were:

1. Nuclear war / terrorist attack in U.S
2. Child / spouse dying
3. Terminal illness

Ebony & Jet magazine's top three answers were:

1. Ghosts
2.. Dogs
3. Registered mail

No Kidding. and these are the people who put Obama over the top; What would you expect?

AND TO GO ALONG WITH ALL OF THIS, I'LL SHARE TWO QUOTES; ......

My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world
I hope you'll join with me, as we try to change it".
Barack Obama

It's a racist urban legend that's years old. Check snopes.com

Maybe...wasn't worried about authenticity.......just the fact it was out there....and sent by one of my "friends" from the other side of the swamp....I normally just erase 99% of the stuff he sends me because it's "extremely" racist.....and even as liberal I like to think I am, I find them somewhat offensive.....I figured that it would elicit a few such comments......

Snopes, shmopes!!

People are typically afraid of two things: Getting old, and not getting old.

I'm not challenging that the OP was a farcical, racist smear, nor am I saying that Chuck shouldn't have known better, what I'm saying is that I don't need Snopes to tell me that there are two things that are feared almost universally by humans: Getting old, and not getting old.

???

Izzat a question for me?

The OP was a buncha hooey about what folk are afraid of.

People are afraid of growing old and they're afraid of not growing old, as in afraid of death.

Thass all and total, boss.

I wonder if they did a survey like that what the real answers would be. And i wonder if and how much difference would come, seperating answers from blacks and whites?
