Where are the Aussies when I want to gloat a bit.

In a surprise to both sides of the Tasman, NZ beat the Aussies in last night's cricket match!:D

Their demon bowlers are impressive!

I don't think it gets shown on Australian TV.

Probably not thought to be important enough.

:confused::confused:

Congratulations.

Yes, it was a good game right down to the wire, shown free to air on Prime (owned by sky).

I walked in the front door late last night and my youngest said "we won the soccer and lost the cricket" - not even so much as a "G'day"

Yep... well done NZ.

I dunno....one of three countries in the world that I have spent time in where the gals were not hustling you to marry them and bring them to the U.S....however...I met one in the U.S. that was trying to hustle me into moving in with her and sailing a boat back to Oz for her....

Well ones an itty bitty bunch of islands where they talk funny and the other is a continent where the population clusters around the edge like a mob of Galahs Drinking from a waterhole.

Reminds me of that thread back in october last year.

where I said this.

They're a NZ invention anyway, just like Russell Crowe, Pavlova, jandals, Drizabone and boomerangs.

Australia? Isn't that what the Kiwis call the "West Island?"

I think it's inhabited.

(Thanks- not much cricket news In Wyoming. I'll have to send a message of congratulation to my cricket-mad sailing mate in Remuera.)

Right-o! Plus an ignorant populace and a corrupt state government. Water frozen half of each year. But the country's grand.

There's one other big difference of course( apart from the inconvenient 1000 mile thing).
Australia is the only country I know of, perhaps there's others, which has not been in technical recession at all over the last year or two. I'd imagine thats due to a phenomenal wealth under the ground which underpins the economy.. something we simply don't have. Our economy has been in recession although not as bad as some, but right now its flat to say the least, with some vague optomism. Tourism is good apparently.

Yeah not sure what we will do when the iron ore and the gas runs out...might have to start being smart.

If Oz is so bad, why do we have more kiwis here that are in NZ?

I learned something truly terrible about Australia yesterday.

Apparently, you poor Aussie souls are not permitted raw milk cheese!

In every other respect, I am quite sure that Australia is a truly wonderful place. But no raw milk cheese!!!!????? Insufferable! Intolerable! Insupportable! :(;)

In a serious discussion, yes. In a bit of lighthearted banter, no.

My apologies, I hadn't realised how seriously you were taking this.:D
