Amazing. One thing I love about it is that it looks like everything worked... meaning there were not steps that were fudged to look cool but would only actually work, say, one time in 20.

I only say this because my father knew the guy who made up the name. It's Goldberg. The last name, I mean

Are they claiming that it was all done in one take?

Yes, they say it was done in one continuous take! Amazing! (But it took 60 tries to get it!)

This adds a number of layers of "amazing" to the whole thing...first off all that it was all done in one take (no splices). Also that it was all precisely timed to the music, something that did not really sink in for me when I watched it the first time.

Amazing... but what does it DO? Rube Goldberg's creations always were titled with a description of what purpose the machine accomplished. The humor was in the excessively inefficient, but mechanically complex, fashion in which the job got done. I guess "executing" four guys with giant paintballs was the point of this one.
