I can't seem to upload this as a .jpg, but here is the link.

I saw this a few years ago in Amsterdam and find her lines to be particularly pleasing to the eye. To my eye at least, the sheer is nearing perfection.
Does anyone know where I may acquire lines to such a vessel or to something similar?
Cheers

You have to link the image...not try to upload it. address of the picture on the web works perfect or you can use the little postcard button http://www.woodenboat.com/forum/images/editor/insertimage.gif

Looks a lot like Weston Farmer's Coyote II, whose offsets are in his book From My Old Boat Shop.
I recollect that this design was the basis for Denny Wolfe's (McDenny) lovely electric launch (http://wolfeboats.com/).

Fred Goeller did a similar launch. I think that Mystic has the plans.
I recollect that there's a lot of documentation on the Kelvin launches.
Here's one: http://www.sky-net.org.uk/kelvin/launches/misc/intro/index.html

If this http://lh5.ggpht.com/_ltn3gyvGHG0/S4qBavnIL9I/AAAAAAAAACI/JkpjxbEJ7nc/s800/NL0_0142_ed.jpg is a Storebro solo, then yes, however as nice as that vessel is, the other one appeals more to me.
For gently cruising canals, rivers and lakes with a group of friends, some champagne and cheese, I believe it would be more inclusive of passengers and the helm.
It also feels less intrusive, and has lines which appear more like a sailing vessel. I wonder if it would carry a little sail.
The Kelvin launches do look very close indeed.

Glad that you got the hang of posting the photos,
Don't stop now. These are impressive, and not what we are used to seeing everyday.
Where are you located? (You can put that in the upper right of the screen display by editing your profile in User CP.) Somewhere in the Med? The lettering on the bow of your dream boat appears to be in Arabic.

Thanks,
I'm actually in Zürich at the moment, but hail from the deep South Pacific. These photos were taken in Amsterdam in Spring 2007. I thought it was madness that day there was so much boat traffic, but a local said it seemed rather quiet. Nonetheless you can see the mirror on the canal wall for navigation around blind corners.
Yes I also noticed the Arabic writing but haven't a clue as to the translation or meaning.
I'm currently trying to migrate these photos to picassa, away from my flickr account which I use for other things, but the picassa links don't seem to work. I'll keep trying.

You'd only ruin the lines trying to put a sail on it. It would only work in a narrow arc down wind and would be a pain any other time.

It somewhat reminds me of the Redwing 18 or 21 launch. Plans at Chesapeake Marine Design. This picture is of the full cabin Redwing 18 but if you remove the canopy and cabin it would look similar - the Redwing has a beautiful sheer line also although a bit wider in the beam. Plans for a launch only version of the Redwing are available.

Yes, Steve, a sail might ruin her lines. It's just because I'm a sailor though and would attempt to put a sail on anything given half a chance...Even been thinking about one on my bicycle.
I think She's perfect as she is.
A combination of the electric launch and the Kelvin launches comes close. I especially like the idea of almost silent coasting along.
The Redwing does have a nice sheer, and the forward sections remind me somewhat of some of the boats used around Indonesia, but she seems a little harder in the chine. I think the transom on the original example is smaller, somewhat more elegant. The word svelte comes to mind.

The Kelvin river launches (http://www.sky-net.org.uk/kelvin/launches/river/index.html) are particularly fine. The catalog says they're "A popular type among missionaries and plantation managers".

In response #2 the Netherlands flag has an unfamiliar symbol in the middle. At first I thought it was the old Dutch coat of arms (crown with two lions) flag. On closer inspection I see the crown and other items I can't identify. Why is this on the red, white and blue?
