Hello

A friend of mine whos father is a professional boatbuild is in the process of building a 32' design. He is trying to build as "green" as possible.

Anyone know of any links for this kind of information. Am I right in remembering that DuPont made some sails using recycled materials?

Thanks From Mystic

it is greener to use natural materials , the less processes the greener

It helps to know where the timber came from and if it's OK to cut it .Some trees should stand and we should learn to use other species .

There was an article in Maine Boats Harbors and detritus about growing a boat, the bushes were planted frame length apart and pruned into shape. I gave up on following it's progress after a while.

The "greenest" way would to be reusing an old plastic boat

Managed forest lumber, cotton sails, hemp rigging, reclaimed recycled hardware. Done.
