Hi all!

First time I will post a item over here, although I've read very much items last months, especially when it deals with Oughtreds Fulmar. Currently I'm building one over here in Holland. Last week I turned her over, and now she is really a boat! I hope you can see the picture(s) I will try to post... As you can see, the topstrake still needs some fairing when I will have glued the rubbing strips.

It would appear as though the forum is being invaded by lowlanders. :D

Both of you guys should be very proud. Those are gorgeous boats.

I saw a Fulmar at the boatramp here in Portland last year - they are really very big boats. Nice job, she's a beauty!

Flipping a Fulmar - what fun! It has puzzled me why such a speedy, yet easy to sail design is relatively rare. Will you build her with decks and the folding gunter rig? Congratulations on reaching this milestone.

dank jullie wel.
Thank you all!

bheys: Yes, I'm building her with decks and the guntr rig (what means "folding"?)
mac: How's your "Hope" going? Made any progress?

Durk-Jan,

I had a small accident which took me off building for two about months. As you know I am building outside and as you also know the weather has just been awfull the first 6 months ( way to could for glueing ).

So in order to get into the rythem again I decided to start on making the tiller. Small job, can be done inside in the workshop and with using one hand.

The idea for the fags is as follows:
I am Dutch
I am building in Denmark
My wife ( biggest sponsor ) is Norwegian

The tiller isn't done yet; now some layers of epoxy and then quit a lot of layers of varnish.

Last week I layed out the offsets for the first frame of this year. So there is progress :D
I have 6 frames left to make; if things go as planned I can make them this summer ( or when summer starts) so that means that hopefully I can start putting frames an bulkheads on the strongback in the winter and start planking next spring.

But you will be in the water by that time
