I've been looking for plans for a riva styled powerboat, like the aquarama from the 1960's 70's or the tritone from the 50's and 60's. Is this possible to find ? I'm getting the impression it's mission impossible. Thanks for any help.

PLans like that sure are available. go to www.boatdesigns.com (http://www.boatdesigns.com) and look under the designs by category section under "mahogany runabouts" and there are two there, called TAHOE I believe. I have built a boat from the "non-Riva" style runabouts by this designer and was pleased with the plans. good luck, mitchell in CT

Thanks Mitchel,

I'm going for the tahoe 23, maybe the 24 foot version, and try yo change the cockpit and loose the after cockpit to try to fit a sundeck in. Do you know the max. hp. for a boat like this ? In Belgium we use another way to describe engines. It's not really like a riva, but i think it's going to be a nice boat.

Jorgoz, the 23-24 foot Tahoe would move nicely along with a small-block V-8 (250-275 h.p.) probably at 40 m.p.h. + -. A big block would give better performance and may approach 50 m.p.h. The extra horse power of the big block would help but it's really the torque from the extra cubes that makes you smile. Good Luck, mitchell in CT

Anyone know how to convert horsepower to kilowatts? That's what the EU uses to measure engine output.

According to my CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics:

1 HP = 0.74570 KW
