The E charts are'nt in cause there. Only the positionning system is.
It's different.
We can't go back with electronic charts, which allow to have the whole planet detailed charts aboard. The lights details,tides and current coming along, easily and immediately available.
This increases a lot the safety during navigation.
We can use these charts with or without GPS.
The threat has to be kept in mind though.

I wish gps was never invented. That does not mean I do not use or have them. But 35 years ago there was a more skilled crowd in the anchorage.
