Nixon's study: I don't think he liked the findings.

Weenies 3 doors down from me smoked the stuff all the time. You could smell the stuff if you stepped into the back yard....I got upset because they kept a German Shepard and when they smoked they would let the dog out to warn them of the law....problem being, the dog obviously inhaled and was one mean ornery temperamental s.o.b. I was in the back yard with pup when it made a lunge for me and pup, teeth bared, and I whacked it across the skull with a Pepsi bottle.

when my wife & her mates were in holland years ago, they got lost in their car, they went over to 2 cops in a car & asked directions, the cops were both stoned, so it was hard to follow directions, imagine living in a land where even some cops are stoned, i wonder if they stop you on routine patrols & fine you if your not stoned

The dog's name was Bogart and hence its banishment. Cops have the best drugs, and it was Holland, after all. They are attempting to police the practise of smoking pot in this country thru new driving legislation. Not sure where this will end up.

Dave's not here, man!

I can't find any info online, but somewhere I thought I remembered reading that Nixon, for a year, implemented a policy of more progressive drug treatment, I can't recall if it was more leniency and/or substitution with methadone, but then after a year conservatives got pissed and Nixon stopped the program. Can anyone verify this? I seem to remember this in a discussion of a book, the title of which I also cannot recall, arguing that Nixon was the last liberal president (an interesting argument, after all, look at what happened under Clinton: repeal of the Banking Act of 1933 (Glass-Steagall), and lessening of trade barriers with the North American Free Trade Agreement, both of which helped precipitate the current economic crisis. But I digress.)
