Okay fellas Im tired of waiting for that flamin museum over there to respond to my emails about BB Crowningsheilds designs... its literally been months and nothing!

So Im wondering if someone over there wouldnt mind contacting them and getting them to give me a flamin hoi!??

I really would like to find out if I can what designs of his are available and particularily the cost of plans for "FAME"... Im at that point of purchasing final plans and if I cant get that museum to give me an answer Im goin to settle for one of Murray Petersons designs... not that that is a bad thing I will probably get the plans for his "Susan" design anyway... but I REALLY would like the plans for "FAME" if I can get them... but the flamin museum is not responding to my emails!

Fame was designed for his personal use and is a 40'6" overall schooner of the finest lines ever produced... IMOP that is :D

If you can help me with this museum it would be appreciated!! Thanks fellas!

Shane, the Peabody-Essex museum is undergoing a massive re-organization, as far as I can tell, and communications with the outside world seems to be suffering for it. I just received info on a set of drawings that I requested yesterday, after half-a-dozen phone calls and a similar number of e-mails over the past five weeks. Hang in there, they'll get back to you eventually!

(P.S. - The guy's name is spelled "Crowninshield")

So I talked to Tom, who had a knee replaced a few weeks ago making him rather immobile, and he basically said I should make an appointment, he gave me a couple of names besides the curator I know, and I should go when I can go with the person with the key to find the plans. Tom believes they have all the BBC plans, so it should be there. Whatever they have for a plan the price would be $20/ sheet. Because of the construction I don't know what the lead time and all will be. I am off to the Maine Boat Builders Show tomorrow and in the throes of preparation just now.

Ive decided to just get the Camden Class design from our sponsors at least they respond when you email them!!

Thanks for all yer help mates particularily you Thad and Michael... but to me if a mob cant be bothered responding to an email enquiry then shame on them and I will take my business elsewhere... yeah yeah Im the one who doesnt get "Fame" and thats annoying but well there you go they miss out and so do I such is life... at least I stop waiting for a non existant response! flamin rude is what it is!!

Shane,I found this link http://www.bapa.org/aug02/08StoryOfFame.htm so that is where the boat is. Maybe through the "Ridge historical society" (they also have a web page)you can get in touch with the owner. He may start things rolling for you. I understand you'll be visiting the U.S. will you be going to Chicago?
