Please share your favorite blogs.
I've crossed the start line and want to chronicle my Haiku build. I'm looking at various blogs to get a sense of what is effective. This is a huge thing for me because as a teacher I am deeply involved in learning how to help people communicate in the 21st century. I even go to conferences on this stuff.

What I am hoping to find and learn is a way to share stories that truly capture the potential of the technology an average person possesses: a good mix of pictures, words, links, animations, videos, design and tone. That last one is probably the trickiest part.

So, please post your favorite blogs. They don't need to be boat related.
Thanks,
David

Can I post my own ?

(Click My Signature)

Consider it an example of what you can do without much effort.

What's missing is any way of navigating it. The easiest way to find something on it is to use google (http://www.google.ie/search?hl=en&rlz=1C1CHMB_enIE310IE310&q=pt85+site:davesboat.blogspot.com&btnG=Search&meta=&aq=f&oq=)and specify the site;

Since Boatbuddah broke the ice please allow me to introduce my Blog to those few folks who may have missed my Blog flogging these past few years. It's mostly about our Kosterboat Sjogin, but also about Beaton's (that timeless Boatyard on Barnegat Bay), our gardens and other life stuff.

Hove to off Swan Point (http://www.sjogin.com/)

I checked out Boatbuddah's Blog and found a similar interest. My professional life involves managing asbestos exposures arising from post WWII P&I business. Smallish world.

Here are a few of the boat blogs I follow:

70.8% (http://70point8percent.blogspot.com/) Always interesting Blog by Thomas Armstrong out of Philadelphia.

Green Boats (http://greenboats.blogspot.com/) Blog by a volunteer at the Independence Seaport Museum also in Philadelphia. Lots of small boat work.

Bursledon Blog (http://bursledonblog.blogspot.com/) View from near the Solent.

Log of Spartina (http://logofspartina.blogspot.com/) Mostly cruising stories in a Welsford Pathfinder

If you haven't seen it, there's a new Thread about Sjogin (http://www.woodenboat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=109273) in Design's and Plans.

Enjoy,

Russ

DavidF,

I use WordPress for my blog and find it easy to use with a helpful Forum of their own. Bolgger is very popular as well but perhaps not as adjustable as WP.

Look forward to seeing another Ougthred boat grace our virtual waterfront.

There are so many good blogs that I hesitated to add mine to the mix. But not for long. I enjoy writing and I enjoy boats so it makes some sense.

Here's my start:
http://haiku-david.blogspot.com/

The audience includes some non-boat people so I am trying to avoid jargon. I'm curious to see where it goes when I run out of things to write about.

I've heard wordpress is more versatile, but google already owns most of my life so I figured I'd toss it all in.
