I know I should be using my table saw or router to make mouldings, but I still like to use my old planes when it's just a little bit. Takes less time to set up too.

Doing that to an old plane is like burning old books.

Punked! Oh Bob, that did hurt though, and not just being punked. Why?

Bob, for those of us who went "OMG!" for a second before we laughed, what exactly made it unfixable? I'll bet you could have sold it as a decoration - tool art like that big bucks fid.

No clue. The cited links were sent to me from Australia as an amusement, and I thought them worthy to share the chuckle. For all I know it was Photoshopped.

 Book burning? The nose of the plane involved was damaged beyond repair (the first picture was posed to hide the damage). The tool dealer couldn't sell the plane and was happy to give it to me (in good condition, a plane like this one would normally sell for under $15 because they're plentiful).

The only 'Photoshopping' is the little glint on the edge of the blade. This was simply a bit of cheap fun and doesn't warrant over analysing. :D

Nice neat job of sharpening, though. Might want to blunt the tip a bit to avoid the uninitiated puncturing themselves.
