I have finally found a copy of "Racing, cruising & Design" by Uffa Fox.
a 1951 edition of his 1937 classic.
Unfortunately We are missing pages 237/238, 293/294.
These pages are the sail plans etc. for the 15 & 22 squ mtr classes
the very pages I wanted the book for.
Can any kind Forumite photo copy & send me them, PLEASE.

Clive,

I'd be interested in seeing that 15 sq meter sail plan. Can you upload it here?

Pretty much the same dimensions and weight as my 22... except that the first figure is the keel weight and the second is the displacement. Both in tons... 2300 kg, dry.
You sure you got those figures right, clive?

Figures taken from Uffa's book.
2300 kg is nearly 2.5 tons,
At my age We still use imperial measures!
When do I see a picture of your 22. Clive

I've posted photos before. Wouldn't want to tire people out or hijack a thread... but how can I resist?

Irina.... 9.73 loa... 2.06 beam.
2.3 metric tons is concidered a quite light construction. A comparable 6 meter of the time weighed about double. A 15 sq.m. and a 22 sq.m. are pretty much the same size - if you can talk about 'a size' for these classes. That's why I find it difficult to believe the figure you quoted.

Posted this one before - but it gives a better overview.

Sorry Lapspiller and Clive,
your numbers are wrong ... and its very funny to see that other people have problems with metric and imperial too, not me alone ... *smile*

1,323 tons (Metric) are 1323 kg or 2916,68lbs
1,323 tons (engl.) are 1344 kg or 2962,98 lbs

Greetings from the North Sea Coast, Michel

Michel,
As an Englishman who has lived in Canada for nearly 40 years, I have to use:
Imperial tons, 2240 lbs,
American tons, 2000 lbs
Metric tonnes, 2204.5 lbs
Of course it will all vary as the boat takes up & absorbes water!!!
