Had a LOT of fun this year at the Catboat Association show and lectures... a lot of very interesting people and some rather loquatious people there, along with abut five displayed catboats.

For my (and their) sins, they had me give a short talk on basic ropework. The room left the lecture all knotted up, for some reason, but I was able to give tome advice to three pair of brand-new boaters and that's the point of this post:

Whenever you can, DO share the knowledge you've gained, either from screwing it up yourself or by "book-l'arnin'" with the newbies. It's rewarding on a personal level and you're helping create a safer boater to boot!

Great seeing Ian and Maryellen again as well as Bill and Mark from Beetle Cat.

Too bad about running the bar out of Goslings (Gee, THANKS JoeCSOH for introducing me to the stuff.... ya buggar... ) but it just went to enhance "The Legend".

If any of you are catboaters you REALLY should consider joining and attending (http://www.catboats.org/member.php) the next convention! Catboaters are, at one and the same time, interesting AND totally loony.

They'll do to ride the river with.

And when I get around to it I'll load in here the only pic I took at the meeting - Vince gesticulating to an interested party.
