ive just about finished 2 months of new teak framing, replacing rotten mahogany in a 65 ft silver motor yacht stern, the hull planking is mahogany above the waterline which all needs replacing after 50 years, maybe ill have time in october, and teak below the w .l.

ive been designing boats for 40 years but i never had much of an outlet to present them before this forum and boatdesign, it has changed my life, and i designed 10 boats last autumn largely because i dont have much work and i can present them on the net

most people who have been around boats for long enough have an idea of their ideal boat, length, beam, draught, type of hull and rig,
how they would fit the deck and interior

a week before the launch i was fired
while some vermin were enjoying the launch
in deep shock i was trying hard to stay alive in hospital with a heart attack on april the first
its the way i tell em

this month the yacht is in port with a new owner and crew who have been telling me what came out in the wash

I can't imagine how you must have been feeling seeing her there Peter, very mixed feelings I'd imagine, but I hope an incredible overriding sense of pride and achievement despite the ridiculous ending to the project. Were you able to meet the new owner? If so how was that?

5 years ago in hospital on april 1,i couldnt resist it, i rang my canadian mate Eric Fisher and told him i couldnt come to his party as i was having a heart attack,

i have built new teak hull planking ,frames, sternpost and transom beams in a 65 ft silver motor yacht, replacing mahogany, most of the monel screws were hand tight after being put in with tallow in 1961
