I'm in a pressing need for metal stitching locks and pins.
Lock-N-Stitch is based overseas (Singapore I believe) and I really need the installation kit (Drill jig) and locks ASAP (as usual :o).

Are there any equivalent products available locally (or domestically)?
Homemade metal dutchman patches?

Please advise.

The repair is to a 1-1/8" thick semi-structural flange plate. The damage occurred at the corner where the corner got knocked off. A piece measuring approx. 12x12 x90 degree IA remains separated from the flange.

I need something that will draw the 2 distinct and separate pieces back together which is why I was looking at the lock-n-stitch locks. I need something to straddle the crack and join the 2 pieces back together. The plate is too large and too complex to move therefore minimal machining is a must (think mag-drilling and disk grinder). There is no need for a leak-proof and pressure-proof seal in the fracture.

Will you please explain?
How does one achieve clamping force (tension across a crack to clamp it back together) by bolting?

Edited to add: yes I have a bux mag drill.

The LOCK-N-STITCH repair is unique because of the patented sprial hook threads. The threads pull inward instead of a normal fastner that is tappered that has a outward spreading force. LOCK-N-STITCH is located in California and sells directly to end users. They have great DVD's to show how the process works. Email dsilva@locknstitch.com to get these sent to you for free. The website is www.locknstitch.com (http://www.locknstitch.com) and it also shows repair examples.
