I have a Jabsco 3890-9011. Looks like a engine cooling pump. Got it at a yard sale a long, long time ago, and planned to make a deck washdown pump out of it. Well I changed my mind.

Do any of you know what kind of engine that pump is normally used with?

Used to use Jabsco pumps as first choice for marinising car engines ... bit out of touch now but they used to have an excellent customer service helpline and a great website...google uk them.

Jabsco has long offered a line of washdown pumps known as their "Water Puppy." They have motors that are designed to fit the pumps exactly. Google "Jabsco" and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. They are very reliable and long lasting, but not cheap. I don't really know if the pricier part is the pump or the motor.

That 3890 is a general purpose pump... sump, bilge, washdown, engine cooling.

All the parts are still available. In that series of pumps there are different capacities...that one is around 10 gallons a minute.

It's a pulley driven pump and will fit anything
