Anybody know where to find a pair of 3" ones? Port Townsend Foundry sells new cast ones for -- $450! I have seen sheet metal ones, riveted, before -- usually 4" though. Seems they should be fine. My old vinyl ones never did look right, and ten years of harbor gunge isn't improving them.

Check with R&W in New Bedford. When our bronze cowl vent sank to the bottom of the bay that's where I bought the replacement.

The vinyl ones can be cleaned and I think that Nicro even sells a cleaner and paint for the purpose.
Great pix, Steven. Thank the lord that there are pretty boats in the world. Is that Victoria?

Victoria it is. :) I guess Chris will have to row out to her mooring and clear all this snow off her. We got about a foot last night.

Also, depending on your situation, would you perhaps want to consider a screw-down mushroom vent instead? --

Am I right in thinking ABI have gone bust?

That's what I thought. There's still some old stock around but a lot of the more specialized stiff isn't available anymore.

You'll need to go to a good sailboat flea market to buy cast bronze. I threw mine in the drink too. Took 3 years to find a pair for my girl.
New ones one market are mostly plate. They look decent but not just right in my eye or era of boat. Also there is an Italian group that makes expensive beautiful replicas but I misplaced the info...
