Are the plans for the "DN ICEBOAT" online?
Without goting back to the "Detroit News" (DN) archives, are these plans online?
Is there something similar out there, online?

Dunno about plans, but the specs are here: http://www.sailingsource.com/ice/about.htm
They would be able to point you to plans.

I don't believe the plans are online, but they are available for sale. If you're going to build a DN, it might as well be competetive and have some resale value, which means using current plans such as those from Gougeon Brothers, which are probably the most popular and which build great boats. You can find everything you need for getting started with the DN at the class association's website, including lists of suppliers of plans, parts and hardware.
