the weather is supposed to stay very cold for the next 10 days-plus

I have about 2 days of firewood

I won't freeze but if I have to run that central heat it will be costly...drat!

Get yer fat arse out side and cut some wood son.

It'll warm you at least twice, the beauty of wood heat , multiple "heatings", cutting, splitting , stacking , hauling, hell at least 4 times.

Get=er done ya old snipe!

Ya I'm kidding, AGAIN! Well sort of:D I'm sure you'll get it Phillip;)

the general plan is to go to Sarah's and cut/split until I'm sick of it (50 mile round trip)

think I'll weigh before and after and see what happens... :)

That's why, at the other house...I had a couple years supply a short distance out the back door, all seasoned hardwood.....for the worse weather imaginable....two vehicles in the garage with full tanks all the time and a power outlet to charge batteries so that I could run the well pump. I also had a 1200 gallon oil tank for the furnace, and bought a little 4 cyl. diesel generator and plumbed it to run on the oil tank......neighbors were freezing their tushes off while I was warm......went over 2 weeks one time without power/snowed in....

Did I mention Katherine ripped the garage door off with the tractor rollbar on her way to bring a stack of firewood to the house a few days ago?:eek:

No, you didn't mention that, but it sounds like a story that needs a picture.

We had a similar occurance at our house involving a car and a garage door. No firewood involved, though, so it's beyond the scope of this thread.

She mentioned a small hole.I haven't seen it yet, I'll be in Alabama for another few days. She did mention that the door won't open now, but she was able to get it closed. Not too worried about it... the door was pretty beat up to start with; and I consider it partly my responsibilty for not having brought up enough firewood before we left.

This is turning ugly fast. Good luck boys, Jim and Paul, you are gonna need it when the women folks read those posts!

Might a suggest a hasty "delete" code red! :D

Were mistresses and golf clubs part of the story? :eek:

I put up 5 cords last spring. 2 or 3 years worth. Octane rating goes up each year, hate to burn green wood. Not to mention (gloat) I'm spending this winter in the Caribbean.
