Seems most people dont. Why do I stress myself so when there is nothing I can do about it anyway? Im I an idiot or what?

You're substituting an external event for whatever internal reality is grinding away at you? In other words you have a certain amount of stress that's in your nature or life and putting a framework around it from these "larger" events help give the illusion of control in your hands.

Focusing on the Iraq war was what I did as my daughters went through adolescence.

It is a clear mark of intelligence for a man to be concerned about the broader issues in the world and not just look at his own personal bubble!.

That being said i do not concern myself with European soccer or Lady GA GA.

Who? I had a great aunt I called Ga Ga when I was two but it can't be her.
