Took a drive up to Bellingham today. Didnt get any pic from there, but a few on the drive up.

Samish River... there was a plumb stemmed cutter there in the early '80's that I admired every time I went from Bellingham to Anacortes. I sailed that boat for many voyages in my mind at ages 19 and 20.

Perhaps this deserves a dedicated category on the forum.

Never got close enough to tell. It was moored to the dock in the river and I could see it from the bridge, but never went down to see close up.

I've ridden by that fleet many a time, on my bicycle - and I have a set of very similar pictures! There's actually some quality woodwork on that larger hulk, and a quantity of (seemingly)salvageable planks . . . .

I wish I knew the story of the hulk. Was it once a boat and someone removed the planking or was it a project ala Raw Faith that never got finished.

My thoughts exactly.
Just like why I don't want to see old high school girl friends -- better to remember them as I think they were, not middle aged as they have become.
