Hi Gareth
I was standing on Walney Promenade at Lat N54:06:50 (54.113782)
Long W3:15:00 (-3.250061) looking up channel to the Lakeland fells.
As to the book, the publisher does an accounting in October, so I'll not know until then.

Merry Christmas Nick from another Miller.

I'm just now reading "Cue for Treason" which is set partly in Cumberland along with rereading "Winter Holiday". Any chance of Windermere freezing this year?

I came here in the late '70s. My new workmates were talking of Windermere freezing solid enough to nearly support an Austin Mini
but nothing like that has happened since.

Happy Christmas Nick! We just missed a sidetrip to Windermere last summer...hopefully next time we can see your beautiful countryside.

Ice around here is 6-8 inches thick right now...enough for a snowmobile. Pickup trucks will be on the ice by Jan 15.
