I have an opportunity to put a triple bunk, triple axle trailer under a 28' Chris Craft Sea Skiff Corinthian model. Does anyone know the hull weight or where I could find these specs. I know the trailer can take 6800 lbs.

Thanks,

Jim

Good question.
A 2003 28ft fiberglass Chris Craft weighs 7400 pounds.
Wood should be lighter.
Can't say for sure,so much for knowing it all...eh? :D

If the boat is coming out of the water, and is soaked up, full of gear, loaded with additional equipment, I'd put it at more than 6800lbs. Single or twins? A V8 with trans and wet exhaust is about 750 lbs. Tanks full or empty? Based on my experience with similar boats it's gonna be close. I'd be tempted to go for it if I wasn't planning to drag it too far. You'ld know as soon as the trailer springs took the weight. Tires will probably be the limiting factor.

Yea, what Kev said ...

Go to Chris Craft website and get the link to mariners museum ... they have all specs there.

Based on my knowledge, if you she is wet, has twins, full tanks, etc. you are going to be OVER weight ... at about 8,000 pounds plus.

I believe, however, most sea skiffs of 28 feet had single engines (Connie's had twins) ... probably a 283 block ... perhaps 327. What, an 80 gallon tank? No generator (probably) ...

In that case, you are looking at about 6,500-7,000 displacement ...

For short distance, moving very slowly, perhaps it will work ...
