There are several reasons:

1- We are such polite people that it's easy to rip us off because we don't complain.

2- We have so much cash laying around because we're not spending it on private health care, that sellers know they can get top dollar for stuff.

3- Transporting on "ice-roads" is expensive; & not all FedX airplanes come with skis.

4- Ottawa (capital of Canada) takes 57%

5- Maple Syrop is no longer accepted as barter and neither are HBC blankets. (though pot is)

6- There are 10 times more of you than us and if stuff were cheaper up here you would storm the border and who the needs that. ;)
