Just what your classic J-boat needs...it's own task force:

The SEA AXE is purpose-built vessel, not a conversion. The 50-meter hull, with 9.2-meter beam, is identical to that of DAMEN working boats, with finer finish and interior. It delivers speeds up to 28 knots, depending on payload. Damen is already building two SEA AXE Fast Yacht Support vessels, one of which is set for delivery to an owner in December 2009.

The SEA AXE is a fully classed vessel requiring a crew of just six, so it is ideal in the charter trade to accompany the primary yacht. It can also be a handy support vessel for very large sailboats such as J-Class yachts, whose capacity for sail inventory, crew, and supplies is severely limited.

The 50-meter SEA AXE—with a 30-meter open deck and 250 tonnes of deck-cargo capacity—relieves the mother ship of space-consuming stowage. It can carry a helicopter, large tenders, water toys and their specialized fuels. The SEA AXE can be fitted with a dive center, extra refrigerator/freezer capacity, dry stores room, and quarters for extra crew, pilots, the owner’s staff, security, or a dive instructor. With transatlantic range at 18 knots, it can handle the mother ship’s pre- and post-cruise logistics, scout anchorages, shuttle guests, take fishing or diving excursions. It also keeps the mother yacht “clean and green” by disposing of grey/ black water and trash.

I wonder if I could get a 40mm Bofors mounted on the foredeck :D

I'll bet a nickel that one turns up in Valencia soon.

I'd want a bigger helicopter, personally. I'm just sayin', it's just a little bitty thing.:p

For one of the tall ship parades into Boston, Shamrock was the committee boat, motoring around the anchorage telling the various boats when to get into the parade. One year when Elizabeth Meyer still had her Concordia she hired Ticonderoga for her tender. Be a shame to have that ugly beast for company, THEY would have the good view.

OK, so the helicopter flies off the deck and the boom launches the sub?, the three jet skeets, the sexy wood thing and probably lifts the inflatable. But how do they get the big boat into service? Push it over the side  ???!!!

Very nice, I had a similar idea for a Melges a few years back. I would have had an opening bottom between sponsons.

To answer Margo's question, either a shore side crane or sink the butt.

I bet the big launch will be made of hot-molded unobtanium and powered by a tiny cold-fusion engine. It will prolly weigh about 368 pounds give or take a couple of skinny models. It's only money right? :D

I'm pretty sure that the on-deck crane can launch & retrieve the big runabout...

Hmmm...decent speed and range, room for lots of jetskis on deck...if the 'yacht escort' thing doesn't pan out, I can envision a future for these ships in the import/export business with the Colombians.
All that's needed is a method to launch & recover jetskis 'at speed'. Launch the jetskis to (stealthily) deliver the 'product' to shore then back to 'Mother' for recovery.
And for us law-abiding citizens, a legal reason for the USCG et al to rip the guts out of every jetski they can find:D, to search for contraband.
