They're just there for Carnival. Came a bit early to get a good seat.
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

Global cooling would cause penguins to show up in Brazil.

        Penguins?

Well you know Rome has had a bit of influence there, historically.

By the way...while we associate penguins with cold climates, there are penguins that normally live in quite warm places such as the Galapagos Islands and the coast of South Africa.

              Re: Global Warming

one aspect of the theory of rapid global climate change is that the rapidly melting ice reserve adds so much fresh water so fast to the system that it disrupts the typical flow of the oceans currents. This is exactly what has been happening and its entirely likely that a change in the characteristics of the African current is a result of these changes.
There has been an increasing number of large die offs in recent years and most are being blamed on both a reduction of food sources and the altering climate which effects current strength temp and direction

all was predicted about fifty~75 years ago when the theory was first proposed based on long the standing science
and all is pretty much being proven out
              sad

                  As opposed to straight penguins.

I never knew (or I'd completely forgotton, same same ) that the Little Blue Penguin went so far North.

I saw a Yellow Eyed Penguin a couple of weeks ago......they don't have the same chirpy outlook as a Fairy Penguin.

Oh, and there's a Fairy Penguin colony at St Kilda.....I should do a few jokes but I'm just happy that there is a bird colony so close to a big city.
We don't know how lucky we are....

BTW there are 2 more colonies in PJ but are undisclosed to the public for good reason!

BTW Wiki got it wrong on the Wangal= Wongaibon etc as the latter are TO's around Bourke and southeast, adjacent to Ngemba and Barkindji mobs.

(and I see a reference to me at the Manly/ Kayemy bits but yet again the "historical" narrative is crap. in fact Willeemarrin was brought down (with Bennelong's influence) from Broken Bay to distribute retributive justice to Philip as his mob were overfishing and displacing the Eora clan.)
