View Full Version : Bosch Jigsaw GST 80 PBE
I can buy one of these in Vietnam for about $120 US. Does anyone know anything about this jigsaw? I've looked for reviews but had no luck. Unfortunately Bosch, like so many companies, have different model numbers for different countries. This one is a fairly solid looking unit but I'd like some assurance that it's worth taking home to Australia - if it is indeed worth taking home! Rick

The better models have a blade speed control, a pivoting foot with accurate angular adjustments, 3 different blade orbits and an on/off switch for the chip blower.
I have one about 10 years old that cost about $US140 back then. The speed contol helps keep blades alive when I cut something tough.
My Bosch has a tooless blade mounting system that works well but you have to have blades intended for that particular brand.
Hope this helps.

Here's the one I own (sounds like C'Chuck does, also):

Here's the one you mention:

It appears as if the GST is one level older tech than our 1590. It's still a very good saw, but seems to lack the tool-less blade changes and the blower (both of which I like a lot). You won't go wrong, though, buying that saw. I owned one just like it for years. I'd probably still be running it, if it hadn't been stolen.
