My Brother in Law has been in the lumber industry for over 35 years.
Dealing in CVG Red Cedar he has some of the best dry cedar anywhere in the world. They are currently liquidating everything in Stock from 4x12 rough cut clear cvg to 20 foot lenghts to 1/2x4.
They currently have roughly 50 thousand board feet of material in all dimmensions.
Because of a recent medical condition he is totally liquidating they are cutting their prices litterally in half or below on everything in stock. Can ship anywhere in US.

I've got a better idea. Tell the son that the Contractor job in the Middle East won't last forever - and he should come home and take over the business instead <sigh>

Everyone - These folks have a very good reputation locally. I would think you'd be happy with your dealings with them, if you decide to take advantage of the (regrettable) liquidation sale.

They were always a bit more expensive that I wanted to pay. But the quality was always top notch!

Is this not advertising?

Not really. It is for someone else's benefit. Not the OP's. Kinda like seeing something on ebay or Craig's list and posting the heads up here for other folks to know about it.

This one is a bit close but I doubt that the OP is going to benefit financially from the sale of the cedar.

I'm sorry it probably is a bit like advertising, however I'm just trying to help my brother in law who could really use it right now. He just recently had a heart attack and will be having surgery this month. They really need to liquidate and to get on with their lives.
I've owned many an old classic yachts and cedar is not my bag as I've always had big boats. But his stock is perfect for canoes and smaller boats.
They do have a website at P&W Cedar products and I'm sure you'll see this is fantastic material.
He is one of these guys that is intimately familiar with all the material he has.
Most of the people on this forum don't really have my background - I've been a captain for 35 plus years owned several big boats 80 feet and above - restored them all etc. Kept them in service wow. Just actually thought I would give you a heads up. I joined this forum because I was hoping to find some Silver Bali a year ago because I was replacing the foredeck on an old fantail and couldn't afford teak. So I really thought this was a good place to let some of you guys know about the cedar. My suggestion was to call Edensaw.
This isn't the crap you get at home depot.

I can vouch for the quality of the lumber. Beautiful stuff, not cheap, all air dried.

Wish I was back in Portland I would go buy some.
I always liked him when I did buy stuff from them.
Good luck on the surgery.

I'll be sure to pass the word, I'll pick up a few hundred - thousand BF, the local yard I'm docked at may buy quite a bit.
