She sails like a witch, too!
The guy standing on her is Eamonn Doorly, the resident boatbuilder at the museum and her builder. I have been working with Eamonn recently to create a set of scaled drawings for the boat, and hope to (if this isn't breaking Forum rules to state) use the lines as the jumping-off point for a new design based on her. Something just a little bit more refined in the details, and maybe designed for strip cold-mold construction rather than trad plank-on-frame so she can live on a trailer with impunity.
One of my favourite boats...
(Bump)
I am surprised that the trad-boat crowd here has let this one slip down the list so far, so quick. Maybe another pic is needed:
Windekilde, freshly rigged, is on the right, beside Marilla, whom she replicates, at the Small Craft Gallery at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax, NS.

One of my favourite boats...Michael, how do ya think that hull shape/type would scale up?
Jeeze, Paul; I thought that I had already PO'd enough people with my hard-line approach to the concept of scaling up... are ya tryin' to get me in trouble? <wink, grin>
As with most boats, I think you can scale up maybe 5% - 10%, but any more and things start getting kind of weird with stability, powering, floasting on her lines, etc.
How big do you want her to be?

How big do you want her to be?ya know... big enough for an enclosed head with hot and cold running water, double bunk, kitchen with microwave and electric coffee maker, etc etc....;):p
Katherine was at the museum after they launched the replica and she brought me lots and lots of wonderful pics, I just love that hull shape and sweet sweet sheer... so I was just curious.
Look forward to seeing your construction plan some day.:)
Sorry, Paul, but to get that big you want a "design inspired by", not a scale-up. I'd be glad to help, though... <grin>
You ought to come to Halifax with Katherine sometime & visit the museum personally - I'm sure you would find it interesting. However, bein' a Suthrun boy and all, I'd suggest you visit in July or August, unless you acclimatize to Hell in short order!
kitchen with etc....;):p
"kitchen" is just wrong Paul.......
VERY sweet boat.....
