Can anyone tell me if plans are available for the skiff shown in post number 13 here:

I know there are a lot of skiff plans out there but I would like to get something pretty close to the original shown.

How about posting the photo to this site, as one has to register to see the link?

How about this:

It is probably similar to this:

Both appear to be from the Puget Sound/Washington area

Frank,

That looks a lot like one of the generic 14 - 16' skiff that the canneries used during the gillnetting boom. If so, I doubt that you'll find plans, though you could try the excellent research library at the Columbia River Maritime Museum - in Astoria.

Plans for something similar? Lots. Here's one I'm familar with:

It's a Footloose Skiff by Warren Jordan. Plans available:

It's a popular, classic, utilitarian design - and there are lots of versions available as plans.

Thanks David. That looks pretty close.

I was told by the owner that the second link is more of a planing hull than the first link. I just liked the lines of that first photo.

If you log on there and contact Milt Roe he will tell you all about it. Also, on that same forum page; "Watercraft", you will find a topic headed "Wooden Boats" and weighed in there with a lot of information on his boat. I thought that it was a Sid Skiff?

Try looking at Shoe String Shipyards web site. The Frugal skiff 12 and 14 look similar. They are by Paul Bennett.

That first photo of the old skiff looks a bit like Arch Davis' Sand Dollar -

As my Twin says above, there are LOTS of similar designs so you can pick and choose...
