The hull shape looks Tasmanian Peter, but the Deckhouse and layout don't.

I like the restoration, they havn't tried to add too much cabin space.

Very nice indeed.

Any more photos?

There've been quite a few canoe sterned trawlers built in NSW. This could even be a local boat - converted prawn trawler, probably. Peter, you'd better go and find out!! Rick

That is rather nice, and a nice change from the usual treatment of old workboats. If it were mine, I'd have added a small trunk cabin aft of the wheelhouse for some nice low profile accomodation. That canopy would be nice to sit under on a hot summers day. I've always thought canopies to be a sensible idea, if you can sit comfortably under it, it'll get a huge amount of use.

There tends to be a fair bit of machinery just aft the deck house Daniel ,but perhaps he's pulled some of it out .I like the treatment too ,simplicity is good in this kind of boat .Avoid varnish !

This boat woud be a fairly typical river or sheltered water boat .

It looks like a north coast boat to me. Shallow bars and all... hence the dry exhaust. She's probably got a three cylinder air cooled Lister in her.

Sorry for the thread drift.... but since I've done it, here's the rest of that sequence... some shots of the Council's display at Davistown on the weekend

You can see on the bottom photo here that the one in the post above is believed to be the launch of the ferry Bellbird in 1916

I can't see a name on her?

Rick is right, there were a fair few small canoe-stern trawlers built around Sydney - primarily in the Brisbane Water area I believe. There's still several working examples of them in those parts.

I'll have a look next time I'm going past .She lies at different angles with the tide and there's only one spot to get close on the bank .

You beat me to it Peter. She's been anchored just across from the rowing club now for about two weeks. Lovely thing!
