Just back from walking the dog , good to see the Pleiades in the NNE sky means the Blacktail deer are in the full rut, Jupiter shining bright in the southern sky the moon arcing down to the west . Clouds scudding across the sky, deer hooves thudding across the field . Pleiades prominent in the NNE .

A brief interlude on mid Vancouver Island ~~

It's a quiet rainy morning here.
For the first time in a while, I can't hear the wind in the aspens or the leftovers on the big lake.

Jupiter and the Moon are quite close to each other here.

Kat worked late last night. We went for a walk when she got home about 8:15. All we saw was trees.

I'm up in town tonight, but the weather looks OK so I'll try to get out on the bay tomorrow night. We get great stars there, not much light pollution and under the wheel of the Milky Way.

I let the Gray Menace out before dawn. When I opened the door there was a white tail and her (as they say locally) lamb eating leaves from under the plumb tree. There was a good glow in the east, but the stars were still visible.

At 5 a.m. Lil Critter was sitting with her nose to the glass doors, whining.....I got up, grabbed the night vision glasses and took a peak, a couple of Bambi's eating the remains of my azaleas......If I hadn't been due at the clinic I would have looked for mama for lunch.......10 feet from the back gate........
