I have three. When I get into discussions of drugs, healthcare, etc. I come from the perspective of what it will mean to them.

If we don't dramatically change health care in this country, they will probably grow into adulthood and not be able to get health insurance.

If we don't do something dramatic with our economy, they likely won't be able to find an decent jobs.

The one thing we know we are passing onto them is a huge debt. There is nothing we can do today that changes that. That was a fact etched in stone the day Bush left office.

The hospital where my daughter works laid off nearly 100 employees this week, as did other hospitals in the area. Primary reason: too few insured patients.

Well, now there are, in my area, hundreds of more out of work and uninsured people.

Seems to me the best hope my grandkids have is if this administration can manage to do things that insure they'll have health care, a good education, and a good job/career. Then, at least, the debt won't be as much of a problem.

I have four, two grandsons and two grand daughters, all under the age of four.

To digress, I see two extreme scenarios, we will have "socialist medicine" like universal medicare, which I favor, or medical care will become so prohibitively expensive that large numbers of people will turn to "underground healers" who will work cheap but will have little qualifications.
