Saw some scenes from a NZ fly-fishing doco on the TV News tonight. Saw a man tie a fly.....that looked like a mouse.
:eek::D

Anybody seen Once in a Blue Moon yet?

Any good?

And, why when I typed 'Once in a Blue Moon' into Google did calculator tell me that "once in a blue moon = 1.16699016 10-8 hertz" ??????
:confused::confused::confused:

Giant mice eating fish. A sentence that can be parsed two ways. One time netting smelt in a stream that emptied into Lake Superior I netted a 10" brookie that had a 6" smelt sideways in it's mouth and wouldn't or couldn't let it go. It doesn't pay to underestimate the appetite of any of the trout family.

These are mostly bass lures. Typically you cast them across a thick patch of lily pads and mimick a mouse running on the top. Pretty effective.

out here they fish the tailwater of a few dams with flies, the big browns love 'em. Haven't tried it myself.

In mongolia they have caimen salmon, prehistoric pissed off trout, they use whole prairie dogs as bait. I've always dreamed of that, as soon as I figure out how to tie an artificial prairie dog.:D

I'll need to see the video of someone flycasting the prairie dog fly.

For the first time in 20 years I've thought it might be nice to go back to South Korea.

Good vids.

I used to own Mouse fly.............you are supposed to cast across the stream on to the opposite bank then walk downstream a bit enough to give the fly a chance to float downstream as you haul it across as fast as you can. MUST BE DONE AT NIGHT AND BEST ON A FULL MOON NIGHT. I lost that fly on the Tongariro river one night when it was taken in a huge splash mid stream:eek:.......just broke it off in the take.
