My first radio show after returning to Alaska will be a three hour show next Saturday and it will be streamed in the internet. You can tune in, if you are interested...

As many of you know, I produced and DJ'd a radio show every Saturday night for eight years. This was before we went to Finland. I'm starting it up again...

That seems a sensible question - Can we have the answer in GMT - cos it might be a Sunday morning show here.

What would you like to hear? I like to be introduced to new music.

REQUESTS AND SUGGESTIONS FROM WBF MEMBERS ARE WELCOME.

My guide line for you would be this.... I like to play things with positive words and hot guitars. If it would have negative words, it should have exceptional guitars or solos...

Ms. Drift,

Thanks, I love the blues. One of our local stations - KMHD - plays mostly jazz, except for Friday eve starting at 4 pm. I make it a point to tune in then. If we're home Sat. evening, I'll definitely tune in to your show.

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Taj Mahal blues, along with some Keb Mo. That doesn't fit your guitar-slinger m.o. though. There's a local group I've been listening to, also - Soul Vaccination. Rockin' blues/R&B with a big horn section. Great fun!

PLEASE GIVE ME LINKS TO YOUR FAVORITE TUNES BY YOUR FAVORITE ARTISTS and I'll listen to them tonight when I'm done working.

I had not heard Eric Johnson or Popeye's list of artists.

Must be because of my last ten years spent in Finland.

I look forward to the links. Thanks :)

I think I had played Keb Mo once, if he's the one that sang about, -okra of all things.... I've also aired Taj in the past.

Ms. Drift,

Here's a link to several downloads from Soul Vaccination:

http://www.soulvax.com/music.html

They also feature a really good B3 player - Louis Pain. It may be too funky for your show, but check out Lovemaker, Rock Steady, and Souled Out.

Spin, this sounds quite intriguing. I like to listen to various genres of music including the Blues. Since I'm on central time it works out to midnight to 3am for me so I'm wondering if 1) there is a podcast or 2) if some forumite knows of good software that can record the downloading audio stream for later playback.

I can second Popeyes "Kenny Wayne Shepperd" recommendation.

I've set an alarm on my iPhone to remind me to tune in. I'll be on the Slope then, but should have decent wifi internet.

My SIL used to do a love song show out of Honolulu, and we tune in via the internet from time to time. She would take our dedications and tell everyone they were from her family in Alaska.

Sounds like an outstanding show!

Hi spinner.

Gopt thinkin about one of the neatest best jam performances I have ever heard. It Was at NAMM (National Association of Music Merchandisers) convention
last year or the year before.

Paul Read Smith of PRS guitars was on stage with his group and Orianthe and then Carlos Santana (a close freind of Pauls) joined. Now paul is studio good on top of being a guitar manufacturer, and usually can go head to head with Carlos. This time he all but dropped out as Carlos and Orianthe let loose. At the end of the jam Calos gave orianthe the nod to go for it on the lead solo for the end. All jam imporomptu. fantastic. If you are still on email I think I might find a copy or link.

here's one of the set at NAMM 2005

Paul Reed Smith brought her here, she still did not have a recording contract , and she did not know she would be on stage with her guitar idol Carlos Santana. She was a bit nervous from an interview with her I fond once.

Good show Spinner!

Really loved the 35* outside the studio comment.
Here in New Hampster in the Mts. we were supposed to have 30* and light flurries.

It's 24*, has been snowing since 6:00 PM last evening and now has abut 7 in on the ground. Not one of our real winter 20 in plus in 8 hrs but a PITA anyway.
