It seams that our regent news on shark attacks and shark related human deaths have cause the population to want to go on a shark killing spree......It's all a mistake, just bad publicity for the shark....who has the right to swim in the sharks food bowl and then blame the poor shark, with bad eyesight when he chomps onto your tenderloin thinking its a yellowtail......to put things in perspective, here's some actual statistics on causes of deaths in 2003, and things have been very steady since then.

Cause of Death Total Number
Shark Attack 4 (out of 57 total attacks)
Contact with hot tap-water 26
Lightning 47
Killed by mad elephant 500
Contact with hornets, wasps and bees 66
Intentional self-poisoning 5,462

Now...shouldn't we be on a massive campaign to eliminate elephants.

Gun's don't kill people.
Angry husbands who come home early and find the ole lady in bed with her new boyfriend do.

I think we've already made great progress in ridding the earth of elephants. So, no reason to seek efficiency in that cause.

I covered a handful of shark attacks in Florida in the late 90s. Truly, you put a bunch of limbs in the water when the baitfish are running, and someone is going to get bit.
