Scrap metal yard would probably be the easiest, though not the cheapest. The yard by me was getting 50 cents a pound for reasonably clean lead alloys and 40 cents a pound for mixed stuff (wheel weights and the like) last time I checked. They also had a lead balast keel from a small sailboat available. Maybe it was from a Dark Harbor and you could use it as is.:D

Just need to check the local scrap yards on a regular basis. No telling when they might get something in. I just stumbled onto 800lb of lead shot for $0.10/lb by asking.
