A 150-kilogram Queensland grouper washed ashore on Townsville Strand on Wednesday had swallowed a green turtle whole before it died, experts say.
DPI veterinary pathologist Dr Ian Anderson found the dead 40-centimetre turtle inside the 2.2 metre long groper following an autopsy on the giant fish this week.

Can't be good, having a live sharp beaked turtle in your stomach.

Nothin' like having something you eat disagree with you.

We had two in the Marina at Hayman of a similar size and the guys from the game fishing boat used to attract quite a crowd when they'd feed the fish frames to them after a days fishing. Once in a while one of the groper would take a bigger bite than necessary and get the deckhand by the wrist and pull him/her in, particularly if they were a new deckie, no damage done but a heck of a good laugh whenever it happened.

Wow! It's always surprising to see the size of prey that predators will take.

Check this out: my daughter caught this ling cod last Sunday that had just eaten an octopus, which it burped up on the deck.

Anyone look to see what the turtle had eaten?...like the fabled Arab dish of a roasted camel stuffed with lamb stuffed with a kid stuffed with a guinea fowl stuffed with and on it goes....
